The Volvo V60, leader in its segment

Volvo has a reputation to uphold when it comes to the Estate (station wagon). Some classic models are even iconic and have a cult status, such as the Amazon and the 240, which you still often see on the road. The Volvo V60, introduced in 2018, fits in seamlessly with its Swedish design, has been loved from the start and is the leader in its segment for many reasons. The Volvo V60 T6 AWD Plug-in hybrid has better performance for the new model year, such as a greater electric range.

Electric motor also works as a dynamo

As the letters AWD in the type designation suggest, the V60 T6 is a car with four-wheel drive. With a combustion engine in the front and a 145 hp electric motor on the rear axle. A characteristic feature of this type of power source is the immediately available, large amount of pulling power (torque) with which the V60 T6 AWD Plug-in hybrid accelerates smoothly on electric power. And just like with a fully electric car, it is possible to brake using the engine, so-called ‘One Pedal Drive’ driving. The electric motor then works like a dynamo, the energy generated goes back to the battery, which in turn provides extra driving range.

Cleverly placed battery, plenty of luggage space

Thanks to the larger battery and the ability to recover braking energy, the electric range increased to 92 kilometers (WLTP). With that range, most people can do their daily journeys completely electrically. If you want to travel further, you can benefit from the comfort of a hybrid car. The battery pack has a capacity of 18.8 kWh and is cleverly placed in the center tunnel. This means that the entire luggage compartment is retained, which, with a capacity of 481 liters, lives up to the name of a Volvo Estate. Charging takes up to three hours.

The Volvo V60 T6 AWD Plug-in hybrid Essential Edition

For model year 2025, Volvo is introducing the T6 AWD Plug-in hybrid Essential Edition, a temporarily available and extra complete version. Prices start at a taxable value of €49,995. The recommended retail price starts at €51,295. The standard equipment of the Essential Edition includes the ‘Bright’ exterior in Vapor Gray metallic paint, 18-inch alloy wheels and chrome finish on the front bumper, window frames and rear bumper. Things such as Dual Zone climate control, Park Assist and a rear camera are also standard, as is Google Infotainment.
