Also less expensive as a Night Edition
The Mercedes-AMG SL is available with outputs of up to 816 hp. The entry-level SL 43 already produced 381 hp, but it will get an additional 40 hp. AutoWeek can report this before Mercedes-Benz itself makes it public.
Anyone in the market for a Mercedes-AMG SL can choose from a relatively large number of powertrains. At the top of the status ladder is the SL 63 SE Performance, the plug-in hybrid monster with a system power of 816 hp and 1,420 Nm. One step below is the SL 63 with a 585 hp V8 that has to do without electrical assistance. But there is more to choose from. You can go for the 476 hp SL 55, which also has an eight-cylinder. Until now, the entry-level car was the 381 hp and 480 Nm powerful Mercedes-AMG SL 43, a mild hybrid with a 2.0 four-cylinder and rear-wheel drive. It now has considerably more power.
As before, the Mercedes-AMG SL 43 has a mild-hybrid 2.0 four-cylinder petrol engine, but that power source now produces no less than 421 hp and 500 Nm, just like in the GLC 43, among others. The result: the 0-100 sprint now takes 4.7 instead of 4.9 seconds. The top speed increases by 3 km/h to 278 km/h. Average consumption is marginally higher than before at 9.0-9.5 l/100 km (8.9-9.4 l/100 km).
The Mercedes-AMG SL 43 in regular form now costs €180,357, making it several thousand euros more expensive. Until recently it cost €178,161. Mercedes is introducing a new special version of the AMG SL 43, which has a significantly lower starting price. The more powerful Mercedes-AMG SL 43 is available as a Night Edition from €163,556. The Night Edition has birch wood trim elements in the interior and 20-inch instead of 19-inch multi-spoke wheels
