More than 4 in 10 EV drivers would probably not have driven electric without their own charging station

For many EV drivers with their own charging station on their doorstep, it is a reassuring thought that they can always charge at home. What seems? The ability to charge the car at home has been a decisive factor for many current EV drivers to start driving electric.

Research by energy company Zonneplan among 1,376 EV drivers with their own charging station shows that almost half of them would not or probably would not have started driving electric if there was no possibility to charge at home. 7.7 percent of respondents indicated that they would ‘definitely not’ drive electric if they could not charge at home. 36 percent are less certain, but indicate that they would ‘probably not’ choose an EV if there was no option to charge at home.

Just under 10 percent indicate that they would also have started driving electric if there was no option to set up their own charging point in front of their door. A quarter of EV drivers with a charging station say they would ‘probably’ also switch to electric driving if charging was not possible at home. 21 percent answer the question ‘Would you have also started driving electric if you had not been able to charge at home?’ unable to answer.

The question of questions: do you drive an electric car and do you have a charging station in front of your door or not? Why or why not?
