Another model year update
Morgan is conservative and had little news to report in recent years. Still, the company is now implementing a model year update on its Plus Four and Plus Six for the second year in a row. The most eye-catching part of it: airbags! Both models didn’t have those before.
The Morgan Plus Six and Plus Four have been on the market since 2019 and 2020 respectively and provided a breath of fresh air in the Morgan range at the time. Not only did the turbo technology make its appearance at the brand that uses BMW engines in both models, automatic gearboxes also appeared. Also from BMW. Motorically, nothing changes with the model year update on the Plus Six and the Plus Four. That means that by 2023 the Six will still be producing 340 hp and 500 Nm from an in-line six and the slightly narrower Four 258 hp and 400 Nm from an in-line four. The British did optimize the control software of the transmissions for 2023. And: the Morgans got airbags, so even more modern technology! Before that, the storage compartment in the dashboard had to give way on the passenger side.

Under the hood, Morgan made more changes. The duo now has ESC and its new springs, dampers and wishbone bushings on board. The braking system has also been changed. Morgan also speaks of design adjustments, although it does not mention any concrete changes. A few things have been revised in the interior, of which the new options for the decoration are the main change. For example, you can now opt for a stripe or diamond motif in the hand-worked wood.

You read it already: the model year update lends itself, as befits a model year update, for relatively small changes. After the airbags, perhaps the biggest news is the collaboration with Sennheiser. If desired, you can have your Plus Six or Plus Four equipped with a lightweight audio system from that brand from next year. That’s a striking fact, because although the models are more refined than a Morgan ever was, they are still quite spartan. Whether there is anything left to enjoy from the undoubtedly better audio quality at speed remains to be seen. However, the system is paired with sleek speaker grilles to give your further customized interior some extra cachet.
