Moto Mondo becomes Benelux importer of QJMOTOR

Importer Moto Mondo, importer of Moto Morini and Royal Enfield, among others, has expanded its portfolio with the Chinese brand QJMOTOR, part of the leading Geely group. QJMOTOR models will be available in the Benelux from May 1, 2024.

Although the brand has only recently started focusing on the European market, we can hardly imagine that you have heard of QJMOTOR, but for those who really don’t mean anything, we will be happy to explain it again.

Founded in 1985, the modern factories of Qianjiang in Wenling, China, now produce more than 1 million motorcycles and motor scooters per year. The company has entered into strategic partnerships with Harley-Davidson, Peugeot and Kymco, among others, and acquired Benelli from saved from destruction. Its own models were marketed under the brand name QJMOTOR.

Qianjiang is in turn part of the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, simply called Geely, which was founded in 1986 and launched its automotive business in 1997, after which Volvo was purchased in 2010. In addition to Volvo, Geely has Polestar, Lynk & Co, Lotus, Smart and ZEEKR in its portfolio.

For almost forty years, QJ has focused purely on its own Chinese market, but that is changing. Last year the Chinese presence was already evident at the EICMA in Milan and after Voge and CFMOTO, QJMOTOR is now the third Chinese motorcycle brand to be available in the Benelux.

QJMOTOR now claims to be active in 130 countries worldwide and has 13 development, production and assembly locations, employing 5,000 employees. The range varies from 125cc scooters to an 800cc four-cylinder Supersport, with which QJMOTOR has been participating in the WorldSSP world championship with the Italian Raffaele de Rosa since the second round this year in Catalunya.

With 25 years of experience and a network of 400 brand dealers, MotoMondo represents several fast-growing motorcycle brands in Northern Europe in addition to QJMOTOR. As an importer of the brands Royal Enfield, Moto Morini, Mash, Rieju and Hyosung, MotoMondo is active in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, England and Ireland.

The first models will be available in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg in June 2024. To ensure national coverage of QJMOTOR, a network of solid dealers is currently being set up.
