MV Agusta celebrates 80th anniversary with exclusive watches from Wyler Vetta

MV Agusta presented two exclusive watches during the second edition of Milano Week Week, developed in collaboration with the Swiss watch brand Wyler Vetta. The limited periods of time mark the 80-year anniversary of the Italian motorcycle manufacturer and combine Swiss timepiece technology with typical Italian design and racing radition.

MV Agusta celebrates 80th anniversary with exclusive watches from Wyler Vetta

According to both brands, the cooperation between MV Agusta and Wyler Vetta is a logical consequence of shared values: attention to mechanical detail, aesthetic refinement and a joint passion for technology and performance. Where Wyler Vetta is known for its classic watches with Italian influences, MV Agusta brings its experience in the field of design, materials and use of color – properties that the brand from Varese made an icon in motorsport.

Two Jumbostar models

The collaboration results in two special Jumbostar models, both equipped with a 40 millimeter stainless steel cabinet and strongly inspired by MV 98, the very first motorcycle that MV Agusta produced in 1945. The lines and color scheme also refer to the SuperVeloce 98 Limited Edition, the anniversary model that was unveiled earlier this year.

The first model is a chronograph driven by the ETA 2894 Bicompax caliber with a 42-hour power reserve. This version appears in a limited edition of only 80 pieces, as a direct reference to the 80th anniversary of MV Agusta.

The second model is an automatic watch without a chronograph, powered by a La Joux-Perret G100 hours with an impressive 68 hours of Mason Reserve. This variant is released in 500 copies.

Details with a nod to racing

Both watches have a dial of real carbon fiber, a direct tribute to the material that symbolizes lightness and performance in modern sports engines. The background color Rosso Verghera refers to the classic MV lacquer that has also been applied to the Superveloce 98.

The golden number ’37’ between seven and eight hours – a subtle reference to the 37 world titles that MV Agusta has won over the years is striking.

The chronograph is equipped with a tachymeter-biber and silver-colored subdials reminiscent of analogue racing instrumentation. The ‘time-only’ version has a minimalist design with a silver minute scale.
On both watches the Wyler Vetta logo is placed at 12 o’clock and the MV Agusta logo at 6 hours. The hands with Super-Luminova input are formed to the needles of a tachometer, while the red second guide and the serrated crown-inspired by the gear from the MV logo-form subtle technical references to the motorcycle world.

The watch cabinets are equipped with a sapphire glass back, making the automatic timepiece visible – a literal ‘engine block’ on wrist size. The rotor is executed in the same anodization tape as the engine parts of MV Agusta and carries both brand emblems.

Construction and finish

The chronograph has a thickness of 12.6 mm, the Time-only measures 10.9 mm; Both are waterproof up to 10 ATM.

The chronograph comes with a steel switch tape and a brown leather strap with fast change system, while the automatic version comes standard with a brown leather strap and an extra perforated black rubber band with sporty character.

The Wyler Vetta x MV Agusta Chronograph (Ref. WV0401) costs € 3,900.
The Wyler Vetta x MV Agusta Time-only (ref. WV0419) has a suggested retail price of € 1,900.

Celebration of Italian craftsmanship

According to Wyler Vetta partner Beppe Ambrosini, the project “originated from the meeting between two worlds that are driven by passion for technology and creativity”. MV Agusta’s marketing director Filippo Bassoli adds: “Every MV Agusta is a fusion of extreme engineering and iconic design. With Wyler Vetta we have applied the same principle to the wrist – precision, style and dynamics in one experience.”

The unveiling took place during Milano Watch Week, who for the second year put the city in the sign of watch and design. For MV Agusta, the collaboration again marks a milestone in the jubilee year, in which the brand not only looks back on eighty years of history, but also wants to connect its name to contemporary Italian craftsmanship – from motorcycle block to timepiece.
