My body weight in the morning can sometimes be very different from my weight in the evening, sometimes as much as 3-4 kg. If you want to know your ‘real’ or ‘correct’ weight, when should you weigh yourself?

By the real or correct weight I mean the ‘official’ weight that is noted in medical examinations, and with which, if you would like to calculate your BMI, you get your correct BMI. My BMI does differ, depending on whether I use my weight for the calculation in the morning or in the evening.

Answer

Your weight can fluctuate a bit every day due to extra fluids and food stored in your body.
That is why it is best to weigh yourself in the morning (after a normal night’s sleep) after going to the toilet.

After all, at night your kidneys process all excess fluid and if there is fluid accumulated in the legs, that is also better drained because you lay down all night. All that excess fluid then collects in the bladder, ready to be discharged.
Your correct weight (and normally the lowest) is in the morning after going to the toilet.
