Euro NCAP has released a batch of results of its safety tests for the first time in 2022. In the past period, the safety institute drove seven new or renewed models against numerous objects. The results? More than fine! Of the seven cars tested, six returned home with the maximum achievable score of 5 NCAP stars.
Renault is undoubtedly delighted with the latest NCAP results. The brand’s first fully electric model developed the car with the maximum achievable score of 5 NCAP stars. We are of course talking about the Mégane E-Tech Electric.
That electric Renault is certainly not the only one to receive a nice NCAP report. The crossover Volkswagen Taigo and the facelifted Polo have also been rated with 5 stars. The same applies to the ID5 and the Ford Tourneo Connect. Lexus can also pat itself on the back. The all-new Lexus NX also scores 5 NCAP stars and passes the extensive Euro NCAP safety tests with flying colors. The only car that did not achieve the maximum possible score was the BMW 2-series Coupé. The only rear-wheel drive member of the 2 Series family earned 4 NCAP stars, which is still a decent result. The automatic emergency braking system would not do what was expected in all (difficult) circumstances, according to Euro NCAP.
