Honda and its luxury brand Acura are pulling the model name Integra out of mothballs. AutoWeek you could already show the new Honda Integra as it comes on the market in China. What now appears? The Integra that Acura will carry in China is going to be quite different.
Honda’s luxury division Acura announced the return of the Integra in August with great fanfare. That undoubtedly made Honda hearts beat faster, although the heart rate probably dropped again when we showed you the first plates of the Honda Integra as it will be released in China. The Integra, which is being built jointly by GAC Honda, is little more than the new Civic Sedan with a modified front and rear. Today Acura shows a piece of the new Integra and that makes us more enthusiastic.
Acura does not come with a four-door sedan, but with an apparently slick lined five-door hatchback. The car gets wide, flat LED taillights in a similar style to the headlight(s) that Acura previously showed on the new Integra. For the time being, it seems that the Integra is not larded with large cooling slots and openings, although a few things could of course still be hidden in the dark part of the plate.
For now, Acura’s version of the new Integra is still quite shrouded in mystery. We do know that the car will hit the US market next year. It is also – given the history of the Integra – obvious that he shares his technology with the new Honda Civic.
