Also available as an electric i5 Touring and as a mighty M5 Touring

We already know the new BMW 5-series in various shapes and sizes, but there is no Touring yet. That will of course come and now we know approximately when: the new BMW 5-series Touring will be presented in the spring of 2024.
The new BMW 5 Series is already available with mild-hybrid combustion engines, with plug-in hybrid powertrains and as an i5 with only fully electric powertrains. We even already know two body variants of the 5-series. Regardless of the type of powertrain chosen, it is not only available as a sedan, but also as an extended sedan. However, the longer 5-series is only available in China. Will there be no more Touring 5-series? Certainly. BMW reiterates in a nutshell what the new 5-series has to offer, but also gives an indication of when the new 5-series Touring will be presented: in the spring of 2024.
The new BMW 5-series Touring in an earlier patent image.
So somewhere between March and June. Unfortunately, it doesn’t get much more precise. To warm up the mood for the arrival of the new BMW 5-series Touring, BMW is throwing a shadowy picture into the world on which the new 5-series Touring can be seen from the side. On it we see, among other things, part of the rear lights and therefore the new light signature. AutoWeek was able to show you the new 5-series Touring on patent images from all angles earlier this month. What’s shown in the teaser image is completely consistent with what those patent drawings told us before.
The electric BMW i5 Touring has also appeared before.
BMW will not only supply the new 5-series Touring with combustion engines, there will also be an electric variant. This means that the i5 will be joined by an i5 Touring. This means that BMW will be the only brand in this segment to have an electric station wagon next year. Mercedes-Benz only supplies the EQE electric alternative for the E-class as a sedan and as an EQE SUV. Competitor Audi also does not have an electric A6 Avant in its range, but it is in the pipeline. However, we do not expect the Audi A6 Avant e-tron to arrive before the i5 Touring. More interesting Touring news? There will also be an M5 Touring!
