Chevrolet comes with a completely new generation of the Colorado. The Colorado is the smaller brother of the Silverado and also gets design elements from that car. Unlike the previous Colorado, the new one is only available in one body style, but that’s not the biggest news.
The outgoing and presented second generation Chevrolet Colorado in 2011 was a technical brother of the Isuzu D-Max. The Colorado – which had a different face in the United States than elsewhere in the world – has been completely renewed after eleven years and no longer seems related to the D-Max. Previously, the Colorado was available as an Extended Cab and with a loading platform in various lengths. Now only a Double Cab version is available.
Although the Colorado is the little brother of the Silverado, the dimensions are by no means subtle. The pick-up measures 5.41 meters in length and has a wheelbase of 3.34 meters. The overhangs are shorter than before, which should help the pickup’s skills off the tarmac. The new Colorado features flat headlamps positioned high in the front, the main new design feature. The rear is exactly as you would expect from a pick-up and therefore has relatively simple rectangular light units. A strong wind of innovation is also blowing in the interior. The Colorado gets a modern interior containing an 8-inch digital instrumentation and an 11.3-inch infotainment system.
Chevrolet offers the Colorado as LT, Z71, Z71 Trail Boss, ZR2, and as a simple business version Work Truck. The Colorado will be available with a 2.7 four-cylinder petrol engine, a turbo block that will be available in three power versions. The most powerful version of this is about 310 hp and 580 Nm and is reserved for the sporty ZR2. The middle variant produces 310 hp, but has a lower torque with 530 Nm. This engine version comes to the Z71, LT and Work Truck variants. The LT and Work Truck have a 240 hp and 350 Nm powerful version of the 2.7 as standard.
The Chevrolet Colorado is called S10 in large parts of South America and has a GMC brother in the United States in the form of the Canyon.
