Ducati has expanded the color palette of the Multistrada V4 for 2022 with a new Iceberg White livery. Plus the bike with some electronic innovations: a Minimum Preload system and the infotainment updated.

The sales figures show that Ducati has certainly not shot a buck with the launch of the new Multistrada V4. Nearly 10,000 units have been sold worldwide in the past year, making it the best-selling model and the most popular family in the Ducati range in one fell swoop.
According to Ducati, in its first year on the market, the Multistrada V4 has managed to live up to the expectations set during its launch, establishing itself as the ideal bike for any kind of trip.
Besides being the first Multistrada that is not powered by a V-twin, but a V4, it is also the first Ducati that does not have a desmodromic valve drive, but ‘normal’ valve drive with valve springs.
Purists wouldn’t have been happy about that, but thanks to that regular valve drive, Ducati has been able to extend the service interval for checking the valve clearance to 60,000 km.
The Multistrada V4 is also the first Ducati to be equipped with radar at the front and rear (although it is an option that requires extra money), which means that it has both adaptive cruise control and blind spot detection. We experienced that this works ourselves during the COVID-19-safe presentation of the bicycle at our southern neighbors.

For 2022, Ducati has now expanded the color palette of the S version with a new Iceberg White livery, in addition to the already existing Ducati Red and Aviator Grey, and can be ordered in 4 different versions: Essential, Radar, Travel & Radar and Full.
As for the electronics package, the most important update is a new semi-automatic function of the electronically controlled suspension of the Multistrada V4 S, called Minimum Preload. This feature allows to lower the height of the bike and makes it easier and safer to put your feet on the ground in the city or at low speed.
That sounds a hell of a lot like the Adaptive Ride Height that Harley-Davidson introduced at the Pan America last year, but not just stationary, but also in motion.
Another important software update concerns the interaction between the rider and the bike, which Ducati says should now be more functional thanks to the improvements made in Infotainment (Ducati Connect) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface).
The new pack of updates will be available both as standard on new motorcycles and free of charge to those who already own a Multistrada V4 S. Multistrada owners who can take advantage of these new features will be contacted progressively through the MyDucati app and via e-mail. email and can then go to their trusted Ducati service to receive the updates.
In addition to the updates to the bike, Ducati has also expanded the accessories package with a lowering kit and aluminum cases. The lowering kit, which consists of shorter springs for the front fork and rear shock and a different side stand, is designed to lower the saddle height by 20 mm.
