New Dacia Logan MCV in the picture

Dacia has a brand new Logan MCV behind the scenes, the extra practical brother of the Dacia Sandero, which was renewed last year. Just like its predecessor, the new Logan MCV has to do without a two-door tailgate.

Last year, Dacia pulled the curtain off the new Sandero and Logan in one smooth movement. The new Logan only debuted as a four-door sedan, so the new Logan MCV was the big absentee in Dacia’s renewal round. For a moment it seemed that that practical station wagon from Dacia would not get a successor, but there is still a new Logan MCV in the barrel. This brand new set of spy photos shows that new Dacia Logan MCV better than ever.

The Dacia Logan MCV in these photos is still fanatically hanging in the camouflage stickers, but a little more of the final design can be seen. Perhaps most striking is the steeply rising shoulder line of the Logan MCV. The first generation Dacia Logan MCV had remarkably practical rear doors that gave access to the luggage compartment. Generation two had to do without those doors and got a regular tailgate. The new Logan MCV also seems to get a top-hinged conventional tailgate again.

Incidentally, it seems that the Logan MCV, just like the primal Logan MCV, will be a lot bigger than its sedan and hatchback brothers. The station version of the first Logan had a significantly longer (+27 centimeters) wheelbase. This packed Logan MCV also seems to get a larger wheelbase than its already known relatives. For example, the rear wheel arch does not take a bite out of the rear door, while that is the case with the Sandero and Logan Sedan.

The new Dacia Logan MCV will undoubtedly, like the new Sandero and Logan Sedan, use a cheaper variant of the CMF-B platform on which cars such as the Renault Clio and Captur are located. What Dacia will do with the Lodgy remains to be seen. It is not inconceivable that the Lodgy will eventually disappear from Dacia’s delivery range and that the new Logan MCV, if it becomes available with seven seats, just like the original Logan MCV, will replace it. Dacia also has a larger SUV in the barrel, a car that it already anticipated this year with the Bigster Concept.
