New Dacia Sandero makes winter test kilometers

The Dacia Sandero is basically more than seven years old, so the Romanians are working hard on a next generation. He now makes the necessary test kilometers under winter conditions.

For the market introduction of the current Dacia Sandero we have to look back for a while. After the unveiling in September 2012, the second generation of the Sandero appeared on the market in early 2013. The affordable five-door then took a significantly more modern road than its predecessor, but now it’s time for a successor. This year, he and his sedan brother Logan will experience its introduction. To be prepared for everything, Dacia tests the newcomer in the freezing cold of the far north and our espionage photographer was there.

What can be seen immediately is that the new Sandero, despite its camouflage, is easily recognizable as Sandero. The coach of the hatchback retains its distinctive shapes. In terms of appearance, it seems to be a more thorough evolution than a major change of course. The wider rear lights, which the current Sandero received with its facelift, return as a style element. In addition, the nose is formed a little sharper with wider headlights and a larger grille.

In terms of technology, we also count on the necessary innovation. The 100 hp 1.0 TCe of the new Clio is also likely to find its way to the Sandero, to replace the blown 90 hp 0.9 TCe. We also find the manual five-speed gearbox of the Clio in the Sandero. Whether there will also be a hybrid version, such as that of the Clio on the roll, remains to be seen. In that case, a 1.6 gasoline coupled to two electric motors and with a 1.2 kWh battery would become the powertrain. We wait and see.
