For Europe?

Will another electric brand from Volvo’s parent company Geely be heading our way in addition to Zeekr? That is certainly not inconceivable, because AutoWeek has found patent drawings registered in Europe of a new electric sedan from Geely’s brand new label Galaxy.
Just as German car brands in particular were a few years ago, they were able to come up with new niches, Volvo’s parent company Geely is just as capable of creating new brands. In addition to Volvo, Lynk & Co, Polestar, Smart and Lotus, Geely’s immense portfolio includes LEVC and Zeekr. In China, Geely recently expanded its portfolio with Galaxy, a label it has devised for car brand Geely with which it will carry high-positioned EVs and plug-ins. In February, Geely introduced the Galaxy label by showing two cars: the L7 plug-in hybrid production model and a precursor to an electric sedan. Geely filed patent drawings for the production version of that electric sedan with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) on May 11.
The car on the patent plates is clearly inspired by the concept car that Geely showed earlier this year, although it is a much better variant. The Taycan content has been significantly reduced and the electric ‘Galaxy’ seems to be more of a traditional sedan-like with a short and steeply sloping tailgate. Connected taillights and recessed door handles? All present. Galaxy’s first electric car would be called ‘E8’ and must share its base with, among others, the upcoming Polestar 5. Whether we have that E8 here in front of us cannot be said with certainty.
The fact that Geely has registered the design of its electric sedan in the EU does not immediately mean that the car will actually go on sale here. But it is possible. In short, our crystal ball tells us little more, so we are especially curious about your opinion on this umpteenth potential Chinese newcomer.
