New engines for BMW 4 Series Convertible

BMW is making a series of changes to its models, including the 4-series Convertible. The cutaway 4 Series will be available soon in two new M Performance flavors.

The BMW 4-series Coupé was already available as an M440i and as an M440i xDrive, but the rear-wheel drive M440i was not yet on the list for the 4-series Convertible. That is about to change, BMW now brings the 374 hp mild hybrid six-cylinder engine to the 4-series Cabrio without xDrive four-wheel drive. The 4-series Convertible accelerates as an M440i in 5.2 seconds to a speed of 100 km/h and is always linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission. BMW will soon also offer the 258 hp 430i for the Cabrio with xDrive drive. Until now, the 430i was only available with rear-wheel drive in the 4-series Convertible. The 4-series Coupé already had both flavors.

At least as interesting is the second new M Performance version for the 4-series Convertible. In the long run, the open 4-series can also be ordered as an M440d xDrive, a version with a 340 hp and 700 Nm strong mild-hybrid diesel engine under the hood that distributes its power to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 4-series Cabrio M440d xDrive has a speed of 100 km/h in 5 seconds.
