As of January 1, 2022, the price list of the electric Cupra Born will look slightly different. In addition, Cupra adds a new entry-level version to the Born’s range: the Essential.
The delivery range of the Cupra Born has so far included four introduction models: Business One, Adrenaline One, Performance One and Copper Edition One. As of 2022, the ‘ne’ part of those versions will expire, but there is more. The price list of the Cupra Born, which will soon consist of the Business, Adrenaline, Performance and Copper Edition, will receive a new entry-level variant: the Essential.
Cupra is asking €36,990 for the Born in the new Essential trim. The Essential is on 18-inch light metal, has a multimedia system linked to a 12-inch screen that supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and has steering wheel heating in addition to dark-tinted windows and parking sensors at the front and rear. After the Essential, the aforementioned versions follow, each of which increases in price by €2,000, although the standard equipment of the versions is not comparable one-to-one with the previous variants with One addition. For example, the Performance is now on 20-inch instead of 19-inch alloy, but heated front seats are now not standard on the Business (and Essential) while that was previously the case.
Regardless of the chosen version, the Cupra Born always has a 204 hp electric motor on the rear axle and a 58 kWh battery that allows the brother of the Volkswagen ID3 to travel 424 kilometers on paper. You can order the ID3 with various other motor and battery combinations. However, the delivery range of the Cupra Born will be expanded in the course of 2022 with the 150 hp rear-wheel drive variant known from the ID3 and with battery packs of 45 kWh and 77 kWh.
