Can the light be turned on?
Honda has released the first teaser photos of the new Accord. If we put these dark photos next to the patent drawings that AutoWeek obtained this summer, there is only one conclusion: the drawings show the new Accord in all its glory.
With the distribution of three underexposed detail photos, Honda is slowly ramping up the tension towards the unveiling of the all-new Accord. To temper the tension again: the new Accord is not coming to Europe.
The first pictures give an impression of the nose and the derrière. Namely: exactly as we have already seen this summer on the patent drawings that AutoWeek found in the database of the Brazilian patent office. We see a wide grille with a checkered pattern and sharp daytime running lights drawn above the headlights like an eyeliner. The rear is characterized by the light strips that reach the center of the boot lid. If we take the patent drawings again, the new Accord promises to be an elongated, traditional sedan with a long continuous roofline and a relatively large overhang at the front and rear.
Los Angeles Auto Show
Except from the front and back, Honda already has a sneak peek of the veil of the dashboard. In the photo we discern the infotainment screen that measures 12.3 inches. Honda does not report detailed technical specifications yet, although it is obvious that its hybrid powertrain resembles that of the new CR-V. Honda will show the new Accord in full gear next month. The Los Angeles auto show, November 18-27, is likely to host the premiere of the new Accord.
