Hyundai is working on a completely new Tucson and it is that SUV where the brand shows a set of design sketches. It is the first time that the Korean manufacturer shares images of the appearance of the new Tucson.
The Tucson currently in Hyundai showrooms has been there since 2015. That does not make the brother of the Kia Sportage the youngest model from Hyundai. In the brand’s development chambers, a completely new and fourth-generation Tucson is eager to show its face. Later this month, Hyundai will introduce the new Tucson to the world. Before that happens, we first have to work our way through the warm-up round.
Hyundai is not afraid. Judging from these digital drawings, the new Tucson promises to be an extremely extravagant model. The appearance of the new Tucson is clearly based on that of the Vision T Concept that Hyundai presented to the world public in Los Angeles last year. This means that the Tucson will also have a very strikingly designed body, complete with LED lighting partially incorporated into the grille and equally striking rear lighting. The carriage itself is interspersed with relatively clean lines and round shapes that alternate.
Hyundai has also worked on the interior. The center console consists of a completely smooth surface, which does not seem to contain any physical buttons. Instead, Hyundai gives the Tucson a large infotainment screen with touch-sensitive buttons underneath for, among other things, the climate control. It is striking how simple the display looks that belongs to the climate control. The steering wheel is completely ‘Hyundai 2020’ and so the new Hyundai Tucson, like cars like the new i20 and the Sonata, gets a hoop with four strikingly designed spokes. Behind the steering wheel is a rectangular digital display that functions as instruments.
You can count on the car in any case also as a plug-in hybrid available, although there will also be regular petrol and diesel engines in the nose of the fourth Tucson. More later this month!
