New iMac coming in 2023

The current iMac (24 inches) was released in May 2021. This iMac has cheerful colors and has an M1 chip. The next generation of the iMac will get according to rumors However, a major upgrade under the hood. That iMac will probably get an M2 or an M2 Pro chip.

Not M3, but M2 (Pro)

Mark Gurman has said several times that the next 24-inch iMac will have an M3 chip. It is not known whether this information is still correct. It is possible that Apple has now changed its mind and will not give the iMac 2023 an M3 but an M2 chip. At the moment, besides the Japanese Mac Otakara, there are no other rumor sites that say an M2 or M2 Pro chip will be in the iMac.

M2 Pro

According to the website, some 24-inch iMacs now have a delivery time of one month in Apple’s online store. Although we must add a comment here. The longer delivery time has been a problem for some time. And that does not necessarily mean that a new version of the iMac is on the way.

No keynote for Macs this year

Last month, Ming-Chi Kuo said that it is unlikely that Apple will release new MacBooks with an M3 chip this year. But a new iMac 2023 would still be possible. Apple is not expected to hold a keynote in October, and the new iMac would then be announced via press releases.
