Kia’s brand-new Sorento will receive a whole new body and a set of new powertrains. As was to be expected, the addition of electrical power appears to depress the price considerably. The Dutch importer announces from how much the Sorento is available.
The outgoing Sorento was only available with CRDi diesel engines in the Netherlands. The bpm ax hung the Asian SUV considerably above the head with basic prices starting at € 59,000. In addition to a plug-in hybrid powertrain, the new Sorento can count on a hybrid powertrain. The price for the plug-in will follow, but more is known about the plug-less hybrid. The Sorento Hybrid has a blown 1.5 petrol engine, in combination with the electric motor good for a system power of 230 hp and 350 Nm of torque. The new Sorento Hybrid pulls the minimum price considerably down compared to the previous Sorento, because it is available from € 45,995 from the end of this month.
For that price, Kia delivers the SUV in the ComfortLine trim. Features such as adaptive cruise control (with Stop & Go), the 12.3-inch digital instrumentation, LED lighting all around and multimedia with Apple Carplay and Android Auto are standard available. Kia also parks three other trim levels in the price list. That starts with the DynamicLine, which is available from € 48,995. There is also a choice of the DynamicPlusLine (€ 52,995) and the ExecutiveLine (€ 55,995). With the latter, things like a self-leveling rear suspension, a head-up display and electrically adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation in the option list are ticked as standard.
The Sorento Hybrid will be at dealers from the end of this month. The plug-in hybrid Kia Sorento will follow early next year. As mentioned, prices for that version are still under the cap Kia.
