Distinctive muzzle

The new Lancia Ypsilon is wandering around the internet in a soaking wet costume. This has prompted the Italians to now release a glimpse of the new Ypsilon themselves.
The Lancia Ypsilon literally surfaced recently. Photos of a copy of the new Ypsilon that ended up in the water and was reportedly stolen already give a lot away about the new model. Lancia is now releasing new footage itself. It is an image that even adds something. We see what his front will look like.
With the Pu+Ra HPE Concept, Lancia already gave away in broad terms earlier this year what you can expect from the brand in terms of design in the coming years. That show car had, among other things, round rear lights and a striking front with a ‘Y’ made up of three LED stripes. We already saw the round taillights on the copy that was lifted from a French canal. Thanks to the new photo from Lancia, it is clear how the stubborn snout of the Pu+Ra HPE Concept has been translated into a production model.
The Lancia Pu+Ra HPE Concept already gave a glimpse of Lancia’s new design language.
As expected, the striking front of the Pu+Ra HPE Concept is not transferred to the Ypsilon without adjustments, but quite a bit of it remains intact. For example, the new Lancia Ypsilon has two wide horizontal LED elements with a shorter vertical LED strip between them – but slightly lower. Together with the black part underneath, something of the Y-face of the Pu+Ra HPE Concept remains. Furthermore, with this teaser image we catch a glimpse of the round elements that Lancia is installing one floor lower in the front of the Ypsilon. This may house the actual headlights. Fun fact: according to the Italians themselves, the front of the new Ypsilon is inspired by that of the Lancia Beta Montecarlo.
Lancia will unveil the new Ypsilon in February 2024. There will be electric versions and variants with combustion engines.
