New Mercedes-Benz C-class Estate in pictures!

A new generation C-class is eager to sink its teeth into the latest BMW 3 Series. In addition to a sedan, there will of course be a station version again, and we see it here!

Two years ago, BMW introduced the current G20 generation of the 3 Series to the world, which means that the car is a blow younger than its big opponent from Stuttgart: the Mercedes-Benz C-class. After all, the current C-class was already introduced in 2014 and has already undergone its interim refresh in 2018. So time for a new C-class! The sedan has already surfaced several times and now the new C-Class Estate has also appeared in public in test suit for the first time.

In terms of design, the youngest C-class doesn’t seem to be causing any huge surprises. The car is bathed in a design language that simply seems to be a further development of the current design, and that does not seem to harm the 3-series competitor. Unfortunately, the rear of this C-class Estate still hangs fanatically in the stickers, so it is difficult to make statements about the design. We expect that the rear lights will at least become a lot flatter and more in line with those of the E-class Estate. Incidentally, Mercedes-Benz also gives its sedans flatter and wider tail lights than before, something we already saw on the renewed E-class Limousine. That line is therefore continued on the C-class.

Under the skin, the C-Class will be on a thoroughly developed version of the current MRA platform, a modular base that Mercedes-Benz often uses for its rear-wheel drive. The new C will undoubtedly grow a few centimeters in length at its generation change, thanks in part to a longer wheelbase. This of course has a positive effect on the interior space. However, don’t expect the C-Class Estate to be a real pack mule. For a really enormous luggage space, you will have to move to another manufacturer in this segment. Later this year we expect the first official images of the new C-class.
