The new Renault Kangoo was recently tested by the French in winter conditions, but now the related Mercedes Citan is on the road for the first time.
As with the current generation, the next Renault Kangoo and Mercedes-Benz Citan also share their base. It was a matter of time before the new Citan would appear, because the Kangoo was already camouflaged by last summer. The similarly related Dacia Dokker also showed itself a little later. Subtle things like other headlights and a license plate from Stuttgart betray that we are dealing with the Mercedes this time. Furthermore, the Citan again looks like a clear twin brother of the Kangoo. The expectation is that the Citan gets somewhat elongated rear lights compared to the copies of its French counterpart, although that is not yet very clearly visible.
A new van and passenger van usually does not entail any major surprises in terms of design. This also applies to the Kangoo, Dokker and Citan. A patent drawing surfaced at the end of last year makes it clear what the Kangoo will look like. Imagine a slightly sharper Mercedes Vito-like front and you have the Citan in front of you. Later this year we expect the unveiling of the Mercedes, Renault and Dacia.
