Mercedes-Benz already presented the new E-class in April, but you can expect more news in the near future. For the time being, we only know the new E-class as a sedan, but there will also be a spacious station wagon. We see the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate better than ever in this set of photos.
The upper business middle class is being injected with quite a bit of fresh blood this year. BMW has presented the new 5-series and Mercedes-Benz pulled the curtain on the new E-class not long before. Like the new 5-series, we have only seen the sedan of the E-class, but the station wagon is on its way. It doesn’t seem to be long before Mercedes-Benz officially releases the new E-Class Estate, in these spy photos it can be seen in action on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife with extremely minimal wallpaper.
Unfortunately for the curious viewer, the most interesting part – the back – is still covered with camouflage work. Exactly how Mercedes-Benz fills in the tailgate is still a small mystery. We already see a piece of the light signature with stars as you also see on the back of the E-class sedan. Will the E-class Estate become a downright pack mule again? Fairly. The previous E-class Estate swallowed 640 liters and even welcomed 1,820 liters of stuff with the rear seats folded down. The new E-class Estate seems to be no less.
Just like the Limousine, the Estate will soon be available with a wide variety of power sources. There will be no electric version, but count on the arrival of mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants. Those plug models do provide some luggage space. The previous Estates had a luggage compartment with a capacity of 480 to 1,660 liters as a plug-in. The new E-class Estate is also available as an All-Terrain.
