Even slicker

Mercedes-Benz is expanding the new GLC family with a body style that you naturally knew was coming. This is the new Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé, especially for those who like its more sloping roofline or for those who don’t have enough of an electric range of 120 kilometers. The plug-in hybrid flavors of the new GLC Coupé come a little further on electric power alone.
In June 2022, Mercedes-Benz pulled the curtain on the new GLC down to the smallest nut. As with the previous generation, there will also be a GLC Coupé next to the GLC, the so-called ‘coupé version’ with a more sloping roofline and therefore less headroom, but with more favorable aerodynamics. With a Cd value of 0.27, the new GLC Coupé even cuts through the air more favorably than its predecessor (Cd: 0.30).
For those who have the new GLC and the previous GLC Coupé clearly on the retina, the new GLC Coupé provides few visual surprises. The roofline slopes backwards from slightly past the A-pillar and ends in a buttock that is noticeably different from that of the previous model. The shape of the taillights is somewhat reminiscent of those on the back of the EQE and EQS, with the major difference that the taillights of the GLC Coupé are connected by a plastic decorative strip instead of an actual illuminated part.
Mercedes Benz GLC Coupe
The new GLC Coupé is 4.76 meters long, making it 3.1 centimeters longer than its predecessor. In addition, it is 0.5 centimeters higher than the model it replaces. The luggage space is 545 litres, surpassing the previous generation GLC Coupé by 45 litres. With the rear seats flat you can carry up to 1,490 litres, 90 liters more than in the previous model. Are you going for a plug-in hybrid? Then you will have to settle for 390 to 1,335 liters. The dashboard of the GLC Coupé is, as expected, the same as the one you will find in the GLC.
Plug-in hybrid
Three plug-in hybrids will be on the international engine list. The GLC 300 e 4Matic and GLC 400 e 4Matic are the plug-in versions with a petrol engine. The GLC 300 e 4Matic has a 204 hp and 320 Nm strong 2.0 that works together with a 136 hp and 440 Nm powerful electric motor. The system power is 313 hp and 550 Nm. The 31.2 kWh battery – which you will find in every plug-in hybrid GLC – gives the model an electric range of 119 to 131 kilometers. The GLC 400 e also has a 2.0, although the petrol engine is 381 hp and 650 Nm strong. Together with the 136 hp electric motor, this gives the GLC 400 e a system power of 381 hp and 650 Nm. With this plug-in you can travel up to 130 kilometers on electric power alone.
Mercedes Benz GLC
The third and last plug-in hybrid powertrain does not have a petrol engine, but a 2.0 four-cylinder diesel. The 194 hp and 440 Nm powerful machine gives the GLC 300 de 4Matic a system power of 335 hp and 750 Nm. You guessed it: even with this plug-in hybrid you can travel up to 130 kilometers on a full battery.
Mild hybrid
All other powertrains in the Mercedes-Benz GLC are mild hybrid machines. There is a 204 hp GLC 200, a 258 hp GLC 300 and two diesels: the 197 hp GLC 220d and the 269 hp GLC 300 d. The GLC Coupé always has 4Matic all-wheel drive.
