Unnecessarily plastered
Mini will soon not only come with the Cooper that succeeds the current hatchback models, but also with a brand new Countryman. Mini shows a series of photos of both models with which it releases new details.
Mini has been busy warming up for the arrival of the Cooper. The Cooper will be the successor to the current three- and five-door hatchbacks. The three-door gets a fully electric variant again, with which we have already covered the first kilometers. There is also a completely new and especially larger successor to the Countryman in the starting blocks. We see the new Cooper and the new Countryman on a fresh set of photos.
Mini overloads its new models with a design language it calls ‘Charismatic Simplicity’. It parks a wrapped new Countryman next to a new Cooper, still completely covered with camouflage stickers, and shows photos of a new steering wheel, ditto alloy wheels and refreshed seat upholstery. In addition, Mini prides itself on the sustainable materials it uses in its models. Both the Countryman and Cooper get a large round digital instrument panel that is centrally located in the dashboard. The screen will have a diameter of 24 centimeters. It is an OLED screen that also functions as an instrument panel, according to the brand. Whether that means that there will be another small screen behind the steering wheel is the question. It is striking that the actual display is round and that a rectangular screen is not placed in a round panel.
Unfortunately for Mini, not only did the first photos of the new Cooper without stickers recently surfaced, the new Mini Countryman also drove itself into the spotlight without any form of camouflage work. Just like the three-door Cooper, an electric Countryman will be added to the range. There will not be an electric five-door Cooper. After all, he would get into the wheels of the always electric Aceman. That model will appear in a few years.
