Techzle can exclusively report that the facelifted Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is also coming to the Netherlands. In addition to the regular petrol version, the Eclipse Cross PHEV is also coming to our country. Indeed, the plug-in hybrid!
Mitsubishi recently released the first photos and information of the renewed Eclipse Cross. The SUV presented in 2017 has a renewed form with a thoroughly revised muzzle and a modified rear. The little brother of the Outlander is also introduced to a plug-in hybrid powertrain for the first time in its history. Based on a source within Mitsubishi Netherlands, Techzle can confirm that the renewed Eclipse Cross is also coming to the Netherlands. Good news for those who like to plug in: the new Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross PHEV is also coming to our country! The first copies are expected to be delivered in the Netherlands at the end of March.
The arrival of the renewed Eclipse Cross to the Netherlands was not yet certain. Mitsubishi indicated earlier this year that it is no longer introducing new models on the European market. The renewed Eclipse Cross does not count as a new model and is therefore still shipped to the Netherlands. It will be one of the last, if not the last, renewed Mitsubishi that will be available at Dutch dealers.

Eclipse Cross PHEV
The powertrain of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross PHEV, the new plug-in hybrid variant of the Eclipse Cross, is technically closely related to that of the Outlander PHEV. In fact, the car will get the same hybrid system, which includes a 2.4-liter MIVEC four-cylinder petrol engine and two electric motors. Both the rear and front axles will have an electric motor, which means that the Eclipse Cross PHEV will have S-AWC drive. Extensive technical specifications will follow at a later stage. However, if the specifications are the same as those of the Outlander PHEV, then you have to count on a 135 hp and 211 Nm strong 2.4 four-cylinder, assisted by two 82 hp and 137 Nm strong electric motors. The Outlander PHEV’s battery pack has a capacity of 13.8 kWh, providing an electric range of 45 kilometers. The top speed of the Outlander PHEV is 135 km / h in EV mode. The photos show the Eclipse Cross PHEV already on sale in Japan. Incidentally, the Eclipse Cross will also be available again with a blown 1.5 petrol engine.
