Hardly smaller than ES7
The still relatively young Nio is rapidly renewing its model range. AutoWeek can already show you the new Nio ES6 well before Nio releases the car itself.
Nio makes its Dutch debut with three models: the ET5, ET7 and EL7. It doesn’t stop there. Nio later presented two new SUVs: the EC7 and the ES8. The latter could also be presented to you by AutoWeek well before it was presented. Now we have another new electric SUV from Nio for you: the ES6.
In the database of the Chinese Ministry of Transport and Information Technology, we have in fact turned up the first photos and the first information of the new Nio ES6. The current Nio ES6 dates from 2018 and is still drawn according to the previous house style of the Chinese manufacturer. In any case, the new Nio ES6 fits better with the more recent Nio models in terms of design. In fact, the ES6 is best described as a smaller version of the ES8.
The Nio ES6 is not small by the way. It measures 4.85 meters in length, is 2 meters wide and 1.7 meters high. This means that it falls in terms of size between cars such as the BMW X3 and X5. Its wheelbase is a generous 2.92 meters. The barely larger ES7 has 2.96 meters between its wheels and is 4.92 meters long. It has a 204 hp electric motor on the front axle and a 286 hp one on the rear axle. For the time being, it is not certain whether the ES6 will also come to the Netherlands.
