The Curse of Chucky

If you are after Seed of Chucky that appeared on Netflix last month, if you haven’t had enough of this demonic doll, then there is good news! The Curse of Chucky will also appear on the streaming service from 1 September. The doll mysteriously appears by mail with a new family. This time too, this demonic doll strikes again in its favorite way: with a lot of suspense and torture beforehand to eventually end murder with a creative killing spree. Of course, this does not ignore the fact that adults at first do not believe that a doll can do so much damage. Think again!

Fear

A young Mark Wahlberg and Reese Witherspoon star in this romantic thriller. When Nicole first meets young David, she is instantly in love. This cool guy is everything she ever hoped to find in a boyfriend. But behind David’s sweet façade is much more. Slowly but surely, secrets about David are revealed when Nicole’s father smells danger. Nicole’s new boyfriend turns out to have a very dark side that can turn out dangerous for the young girl.

Godzilla

There are classic monsters that everyone knows. Godzilla is one of them. This all-devastating monster created by Mother Nature is a danger to humanity. Joe Brody (Brian Crantson) is a scientist in Japan who is one of the first to observe an anomaly in the sonar data just before the monster first strikes. From that moment on, humanity will have to do everything in its power to protect itself from the primal force of Godzilla.

The Informer

After serving his time in prison for assault, war veteran Pete Koslow is recruited by the FBI to infiltrate New York’s Polish mafia. He does everything he can to make this mission go smoothly, but then his cover is revealed by a clumsy undercover NYPD agent. From that moment on, the FBI also dropped Koslow and his life was no longer safe. Not knowing who to trust, he must try hard to get out of this approached situation.

Revolutionary Road

Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet meet again on the silver screen in the film Revolutionary Road. The story is set in America’s 1950s and revolves around the married couple Frank and April. On the outside they seem to have everything done: Frank has a good job, they have two nice children and they live in a nice house in a good neighborhood. However, they are not happy and in a last-ditch effort to save their marriage, they decide to move to France. However, the disaster seems inevitable and slowly but surely their relationship gets bogged down in quarrels, mistrust and resentment.

I’m Thinking of Ending Things

A new film based on Charlie Kaufman will be released on Netflix this month. Kaufman is known for the films The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and the film Being John Malkovich. In this film, we follow a woman who visits his parents for the first time with her boyfriend Jake. They haven’t been a couple for long and Jake has it all: he’s sweet, kind and funny and they click really well. And yet she’s thinking about breaking up. As we are used to from the other films by Kaufman, the credible and observable reality also plays a role in I’m Thinking of Ending Things. This time, the woman discovers the movement of time and how we relate to time. A Netflix original to look forward to!

The Devil All the Time

Set in Ohio, just after World War II, The Devil All the Time tells the story of several sinister people who are all connected in one way or another. It is a film adaptation of the book of the same name written by Donald Ray Pollock. In all these stories the young Arvin Russel (Tom Holland) is central. He does his best to follow the example of his faithful father. Ultimately, Arvin must work hard to protect himself and his family from the evil forces that threaten to invade his life.

Enola Holmes

Netflix elaborates on the work of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle with this film about Enola Holmes, the sister of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes. For this they have recruited a cast known at Netflix: Millie Bobbie Brown, star Eleven of Stranger Things plays the role of Enola. Sherlock Holmes is played by Henry Cavill, who we saw earlier in the Netflix original The Withcer and the role of Microft Holmes is played by Sam Claflin. The story is about the bond that Enola has with her mother (Helena Bonham Carter) with her mother, which one day mysteriously disappears. She enlists the help of her two brilliant brothers to track down their mother together.

Nocturnal Animals

This thriller stars Jake Gyllenhaal (Edward) and Amy Adams (Susan). They were once married, but after a violent event, the couple decided to divorce. Now Susan is the owner of an art gallery and married to another man. However, her marriage is shaken when Susan receives the violent manuscript from her ex-husband Edward. The manuscript is dedicated to her and is entitled Nocturnal Animals, a nickname Edward used to have for the perpetually sleep-deprived Susan. He invites her to dinner when he returns to LA with the intention of holding her accountable for what she did to him.
