New on Netflix: January 2018

The Netflix offer is not fixed. New films and series are added every month and titles are regularly released. Every month we look ahead at the new offer on iPhoned and then pick the best for you. These can be older films and series that just appear on Netflix, or brand new titles. All you have to do is sit back and press ‘play’. Our New to Netflix guide keeps you up to date with essential series and movies on the streaming service every month.

1. Friends

On January 1, you can break out all day with Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Chandler, Joey and Ross. All ten seasons of Friends are finally on Netflix. You probably don’t need any further explanation, because this is still one of the most popular sitcoms. If you still missed the series or want to watch it all over again from A to Z, you can bing it from the beginning of 2018.

2. Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee

Jerry Seinfeld struck a deal with Netflix in 2017, which included the comedy special Jerry Before Seinfeld. Now his web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee will also be on Netflix. The title actually covers it well. Seinfeld drives a different comedian in a different car every time to get coffee.

It provides a kind of mobile talk show. The series featured Larry David, Sarah Silverman, Jon Stewart, Jim Carrey and Barack Obama.

3. The Polka King

The Polka King is based on a true story. Jack Black takes on the role of Polish Jan Lewan, who plans to make it all the way in the United States. He manages to build a musical empire, but eventually becomes best known as the face behind one of the world’s greatest financial crimes. In addition to Black, this comedy also features Jenny Slate and Jason Schwartzman.

4. The End of the F *** ing World

This eight-part series is based on Charles Forsman’s eponymous comic. It’s all about teenagers James (Alex Lawther) and Alyssa (Jessica Barden) who go on a road trip together. It is not all that easy, because she is quite rebellious and he almost psychopathic. Netflix promises a series full of black humor.

5. The Flash

Two seasons of The Flash can be found on Netflix, with the third coming in January. This superhero series revolves around forensic expert Barry Allen who wakes up from a coma and suddenly turns out to have new powers. As The Flash, he has incredible speed that he can use to solve crimes and problems.
