The Netflix offer is not fixed. New films and series are added every month and titles are regularly released. Every month we look ahead at the new offer on iPhoned and then pick the best for you. These can be older films and series that just appear on Netflix, or brand new titles. All you have to do is sit back and press ‘play’. 1. Godless

Lots of series this month, starting with Godless. It’s all about Roy Goode and Frank Griffin, two criminals who once terrorized the country together, but can now drink each other’s blood. Goode has betrayed Griffin, and the latter begins a manhunt for his former companion. This leads to a town that is run by only women.

Big names are involved in Godless. For example, Jeff Daniels takes on the role of Frank Griffin. Actor Jack O’Connell, who plays Roy Goode, is also no stranger to the film world. In addition, Steven Soderbergh is executive producer and is directed by Scott Frank. They recently worked together on the movie Logan Lucky.

2. She’s Gotta Have It

She’s Gotta Have It might ring a bell for movie buffs. In 1986, director Spike Lee released this black and white comedy drama as a film (by the way can also be seen on Netflix). Now, more than thirty years later, Lee returns as director of a ten-part series based on the film of the same name. In color this time.

She’s Gotta Have It is about Nola Darling (DeWanda Wise) who tries to keep all the balls in her life up. She has to divide her time into her friends, her job and her no fewer than three admirers. Whether that works …

3. Alias ​​Grace

Margaret Atwood wrote the book on which this miniseries is based. We enter the Victorian era in Canada, where Grace Marks (Sarah Gadon) works as an Irish immigrant. Things quickly go wrong, because at the age of sixteen she is convicted together with a stable boy for the murder of their boss. Fifteen years later, a psychiatrist tries to investigate what really happened and how it turned out.

4. The Sinner

In The Sinner, a normal woman named Cora Tanetti (Jessica Biel) on a beach stabs a man in the neck while her husband and young child watch. The woman is arrested and then says that she has no idea what happened and who that man is. Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) tries to find out why Tanetti did what she did by digging into her history. A mysterious ‘whydunit’.

5. Goosebumps

Just too late for Halloween, this kid-friendly horror / fantasy movie. Goosebumps is based on the eponymous book series by RL Stine that was released in the Netherlands under the name Kippenvel. The books were a bit scarier than this film, which mainly features fantasy. It’s a bit like Jumanji with monsters.

The movie was directed by Rob Letterman (Shark Tale, Monsters vs Aliens). One of the leading roles is for Jack Black, in the role of the writer. Goosebumps was already made a TV series in the 90s, which also on Netflix.

6. Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond

In 1999 Jim Carrey made a great biographical tragicomedy called Man on the Moon, about the absurd comedian Andy Kaufman. Carrey won a Golden Globe for the role, in which he completely disappeared. By means of ‘method acting’ he stayed in his role during production, even when the cameras were not running.

The full title is ‘Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond – The Story of Jim Carrey & Andy Kaufman Featuring a Very Special, Contractually Obligated Mention of Tony Clifton’. With images taken during the shooting of Man on the Moon, this portrait was made about two great American comedians.
