For a long time it was quiet around Izera, the new car brand from Poland that should provide the Polish market with relatively affordable electric cars. The silence has now been broken. Geely confirms the delivery of a modular electric platform to Izera.

In mid-2020, Izera introduced itself to the world with the presentation of two future electric cars. Izera – part of Electromobility Poland – wants to bring relatively affordable electric cars to the Polish consumer, which must above all be practical and spacious. No autonomous technology or unnecessarily large amounts of electric horsepower and that is quite a refreshing approach in the current car landscape. It was initially unknown whether Izera would develop the EV technology required for its intended model range itself. That turns out not to be the case. Izera is hooking up with Volvo’s parent company Geely.

Izera – supported by the Polish government – has signed an agreement with Geely that makes it possible to use Geey’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform. This modular EV base has five basic flavours, each of which has variable dimensions. For example, you already know the SEA2 platform from the Smart #1 and from its bigger brother, which has yet to be officially revealed: the Smart #3, which can already be seen extensively here. The future Polestar 4 will be on the SEA1 variant, which the Zeekr 001 and Zeekr 009, which will also appear in Europe, will use.

Izera’s first electric car will soon be a compact SUV. A hatchback and a station wagon in the compact middle class will follow later. Izera will produce the cars on the SEA platform itself. In the Polish city of Jaworzno, the Izeras will soon run off the production line, although it is not yet known when.
