‘New Subaru BRZ not for Europe’

Subaru will present a thoroughly renewed BRZ to the world in a few weeks. Unfortunately there are no plans to ship the latest Subaru BRZ to Europe.

Subaru has already twice released a teaser of the upcoming thoroughly revised BRZ. Subaru and Toyota previously announced new generations of sister models BRZ and GT86, and according to the US branch of Subaru, the BRZ will be unveiled on November 18. What appears now? The BRZ is not coming to Europe.

A Subaru spokesman has confirmed to the English Autocar that the new BRZ that Subaru will present in a few weeks, is only intended for the American market. The Japanese would not have any plans to bring him to Europe. Incidentally, the planned BRZ is not completely new, it turns out. The rear-wheel drive coupé would simply be based on the already known model. However, the coupé gets a thoroughly revised body and a fresh power source. The atmospheric 2.0 would be exchanged for a 2.4-liter four-cylinder boxer with turbo. You will find that engine in 260 hp and 376 Nm strong form in the United States in the new Outback, as well as in the Legacyen Ascent not available here. That would make the BRZ a lot spicier, the current model has to do with 200 hp.

In the Netherlands, a total of 38 copies of the BRZ were registered between 2012 and 2016. Twin brother Toyota GT86 sold 156 times in our country. Incidentally, the pair had a third sister model in the form of the Scion FR-S only available in North America.
