The new Subaru Impreza is still very young, but Subaru is already presenting a sporty STI version of it. Just don’t expect too much from it.
In November, Subaru pulled the curtain on the sixth-generation Impreza at the Los Angeles Auto Show. With its new front, the new Subaru Impreza is a lot more aggressive than its predecessor. During the Tokyo Auto Salon – not to be confused with the Tokyo Motor Show – Subaru shows, among other things, an Impreza with an accentuated appearance.
The Subaru Impreza in these images is loaded with parts from the warehouse of Subaru Tecnica International, better known as Subaru’s STI division. It is not a full-fledged STI version with more power, by the way, because it is mainly about relatively modest appearance. The Subaru Impreza stands on black STI wheels and has subtle aerodynamic extras all around, including a black rear spoiler. The most striking adjustment can be found at the bottom of the buttocks. There you see two centrally placed exhaust tailpipes. Subaru also takes a more excitingly dressed and unknown Rex and an adventurously dressed version of the new Crosstrek to the Tokyo Auto Salon.
It is still not known if and when the new Subaru Impreza will come to the Netherlands.
