Waiting for Los Angeles
The new and sixth generation of the Subaru Impreza still has to wait one week for its unveiling, but is already showing its nose. As expected, it shows some similarities with the front of the Subaru CrossTrek, but also has the necessary differences.
We could already tell you a week ago that the unveiling of the new Subaru Impreza is near. Then the brand sent out a teaser showing the silhouette of the new hatchback. Now we also get a picture of the front of the car, because Subaru now releases an extra picture.
In the photo we are looking straight into the nose of the new Impreza, which is characterized by a grille that resembles that of the CrossTrek in its overall shape. We also know the slightly horizontal elements in it, which connect the outside of the grille with the Subaru logo, from the crossover brother of the Impreza. Where those ‘bars’ in the CrossTrek continue in the headlights, that does not seem to be the case with the Impreza.

What is even more striking about the grille are the pointy pieces of plastic with which it is filled in. The Impreza also differs from the CrossTrek in that regard, since the latter has a grille full of hexagonal elements. In the photo we also see a small piece of the bumper, which has less thick contrasting parts than – again – the CrossTrek. That was to be expected; the Impreza doesn’t have to look as ‘cross’ as its taller brother.
Curious about what the rest of the Impreza will look like? We can show you that in exactly a week. Then the new model will be on the Subaru booth at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
