Probably also for the Netherlands
Subaru will reveal its new Impreza in two weeks, so it is already a dark picture in the world. It shows that there will in any case be a hatchback, which in all likelihood will also be available in the Netherlands.
The Subaru Impreza is already in its sixth generation and it will be unveiled in two weeks at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The United States is therefore by far the most important sales market for the brand. For the Impreza, all five previous generations were also available in the Netherlands. We expect to be able to welcome this sixth one here, despite the brand’s fairly low sales figures.
Expect design cues like the upcoming CrossTrek will have, so sharply drawn headlamps and taillight units with inner spurs. The Subaru XV, predecessor of the CrossTrek, also had the necessary similarities with the previous Impreza. We say previous and not current, because the Impreza of the fifth generation quietly disappeared from the price lists a while ago. It came on the market here in 2017 and received a facelift in 2019, but apparently it failed to keep the car relevant here until 2022. The latter was sold in 2020 and brought the total of the fifth-generation Impreza sold in the Netherlands to 57 units.
The sixth-generation Subaru Impreza – like the CrossTrek – is expected to hit the market in the United States next year in both sedan and hatchback form. In Europe, we expect to welcome only the hatchback, which will probably have a later introduction than the one for the US market. We’ll know more in two weeks.
