Toyota will pull the curtain on the second-generation C-HR this year. The new Toyota C-HR will be the first plug-in hybrid that the brand builds in Europe, which means the brand has a production first.

The Toyota C-HR that still populates the showrooms can be found there since 2016. The stubborn-looking crossover marked the start of a Toyota reborn to a certain extent that would have more of an eye for playfully designed cars or more dynamic driving models. This year, the C-HR is replaced by a completely new generation. It will not only have a hybrid powertrain, but will soon be available for the first time with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Change, therefore, but little else seems to change in the design of the C-HR concept. The new C-HR promises to be another eccentric model and even the birthplace of the models intended for Europe does not change.

Like the current generation Toyota C-HR, the new C-HR for Europe is produced in Turkey by Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey (TMMT) in Sakarya. TMMT is Toyota’s first European plant to build a plug-in hybrid. In addition, the Turkish factory will soon be the first European Toyota factory with a production line where it assembles batteries.

With the C-HR Prologue, Toyota already gave a fairly concrete preview of the new C-HR. The new model does not have petrol engines without electrical support. We were able to show you the production version on an earlier patent image.
