In August 2023, the world was introduced to the completely new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, the car that is known simply as Land Cruiser in the Netherlands. This off-roader, loaded with retro design, has now also arrived in the Netherlands and AutoWeek can now tell you the minimum price it should cost.
The new Toyota Land Cruiser is available in the Netherlands from €71,400. A relative bargain, you might think. However, there are some catches. Toyota asks €71,400 for the Land Cruiser Van, the commercial vehicle version. This means that the generous 71 grand is the price excluding VAT and BPM. The tax value – so the all-in price excluding delivery costs if you were to buy it privately – is €113,585. The Land Cruiser Van is therefore not intended for private individuals.
The net list price of €71,400 excluding VAT and BPM applies to the Toyota Land Cruiser Van in Professional trim. It is also available as a First Edition and in that form has a list price of €75,000. Regardless of the chosen version, you get a 204 hp 2.8 turbo diesel that produces 500 Nm. Shifting is done with an eight-speed automatic transmission. In 2025, the Land Cruiser will also be available with a mild-hybrid variant of this 2.8, a machine that was recently introduced in the Hilux.
Toyota Land Cruiser Van
As a Professional, the Toyota Land Cruiser Van has leather upholstery, electrically adjustable front seats with seat heating and ventilation, LED headlights and windscreen heating. An electrically operated tailgate and a separately opening rear window are also part of the Professional party, as well as a 12.3-inch infotainment screen and a JBL audio system with fourteen speakers.
You can immediately recognize the First Edition from the outside by its round instead of square headlights. The Toyota Land Cruiser Van First Edition is available in two colors: Sand Metallic and Smokey Blue Solid. The First Edition also has specific leather upholstery and 20-instead of 18-inch alloys.

The Toyota Land Cruiser Van will come to the Netherlands in the third quarter. And what about the passenger car versions? It is also coming to the Netherlands, although you have to wait longer for that. It is not yet known what the Toyota Land Cruiser costs in passenger car trim, but definitely aim for a starting price of well over €100,000.
