Just like Tiguan closer to ID series
Unfortunately for Volkswagen, the brand new Volkswagen Passat can already be admired in full regalia. Earlier, the new Tiguan also leaked onto the internet early. The Volkswagen Passat clearly follows a similar design path.
The curry sausages are probably flying through the corridor in Wolfsburg at the moment, because unfortunately for the Germans, the brand new Volkswagen Passat is already fully on display. It seems that germancarforums first released these photos of the new Passat late Tuesday evening and we thank you Wilco Block for the hint. In fact, there can be no doubt that we are dealing with the real thing here.
Does the new Volkswagen Passat remind you of anything? Then you probably have the new and not yet officially presented Volkswagen Tiguan still fresh in your mind. Photos leaked last week and the new Passat clearly comes from the same design tube. Like the Tiguan, the new Volkswagen Passat is closer to the electric ID series in terms of shapes and lines. The nose of the new Passat is characterized by somewhat rounder shapes than is the case with the current one, at the back the Passat – just like the ID7, among others – has lighting over the entire width instead of two separate units.
We don’t call the Volkswagen ID7 for nothing, of course, because that is after all the electric alternative to this new Volkswagen Passat. It is therefore not at all surprising that the two are somewhat similar and that could already be deduced from images of partly pasted Passats. While the ID7 comes as a sedan and as a Variant, the new Volkswagen Passat is always a Variant. In addition to well-known TSI and (in some markets) TDI power sources, you can also count on mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains.
