New Volkswagen Tiguan up close

There will be one more new generation of Volkswagen Tiguan with combustion engines. It can be seen up close on a new set of espionage plates. Just at a gas station!

The current second-generation Volkswagen Tiguan has been running since 2015, which means that a completely new Tiguan will not be long in coming. It will probably come on the market next year and that will be the last Tiguan to get combustion engines. A set of new photos shows a packed test sample up close.

From 2033, Volkswagen will only sell fully electric passenger cars in Europe, which means that the next generation Tiguan will be the last to receive combustion engines. It is not for nothing that the test sample, which was snapped in the United States, is located at a gas station. Volkswagen has done its best to disguise the test model as the current Tiguan, but the connoisseur immediately sees that the car hidden under the sticker work has a completely new body. The new Tiguan will include plug-in hybrid powertrains, but will also be available without a plug. It is not yet entirely clear whether a fully electric version will also be available in the future, but it already seems certain that the model name Tiguan will appear on an SUV only available with electric powertrains in the future. You can read more about that here.
