New York International Auto Show 2021 rescheduled to August

The 2021 New York International Auto Show has a date. The fair will take place from 20 to 29 August, four months later than planned. According to the organizers, this was not only done because of the persistent troubles surrounding the corona virus, but also because of an expansion of the stock exchange building.

This year, the New York International Auto Show, like almost every other international auto show, was canceled. Initially, the NYIAS was to be held in 2021 from April 2 to 11 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, but the organizers have decided not to do so. Now the fair takes place at the same location at the end of August. In a statement, Mark Schienberg, chairman of the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association, says that this decision has another important reason in addition to the situation surrounding the corona virus. “Now we have the expanded Javits Center with an additional 100,000 square feet of exhibition space (9,290 square meters, ed.) At our disposal,” he says. In addition, according to the chairman, the facilities of the conference center have also been further improved.

According to the organizers, the fair in New York mainly focuses on electric mobility. There will even be a test track to try new models from manufacturers. All in all, it seems that the autumn of 2021 will be quite filled with car shows. The NAIAS, which was originally planned for June, is moving to September. In that month the IAA in Munich will also open its doors. Of course, these new data are also completely dependent on how the situation surrounding the corona virus will develop in 2021.
