Extensively addressed, but not violently different
The facelifted BMW X5 from 2023 not only has a different nose, but also a heavily modernized interior and new powertrains. In this video we walk around it and tell you everything about the new SUV.
The facelift that the BMW X5 and X6 undergo is not as drastic as that of the X7 last year. No front with lighting spread over two layers, but flatter headlights with a different layout and new bumper work all around. The xLine package is standard on the X5 and gives it a more upscale appearance than the X6, which has standard M Sport trim. The SUV duo is introduced to BMW Operating System 8, which means that the digital instruments and the infotainment screen will form a whole from now on. The xDrive45e plug-in is now called xDrive50e and is much more powerful than before. It can travel up to more than 110 km on electric power alone. All other engines, the six-cylinder and the V8 of the M60i, are now mild hybrids.
All innovations are not only extensively discussed in this video, we previously published this article about the facelifted X5 (and X6). The prices are now also known. The updated BMW X5 starts as xDrive50e at just over €96,000, with more versions to follow later.
