Volkswagen ‘Aero B’ shows more of itself

Volkswagen shows a small and blurry image of the nose of the car that is expected to be called ID Aero. The brand itself then calls that car Aero B, so there is again a lot to guess today.

The ID Aero, as we call it until now, is the production model of the ID Vizzion and one of two cars that will follow the Passat. It is an electric sedan-like on MEB basis, so basically with rear-wheel drive. Of course he has a coupé-like carriage, which explains the ‘Aero’ in the name.

In a presentation in which the results of 2021 and the not too favorable prospects for 2022 were discussed, the car made a brief appearance. This also included this image, which was skilfully and quickly cut from the presentation by Motor1. We see a clearly recognizable nose in Volkswagen’s ID style, so with a continuous LED bar and without a high grille. The bumper has a sporty shape, especially thanks to the two pointed air intakes on either side. The wheels are downright gigantic, but that is probably mainly because this is still a computer sketch.

In the text of the presentation, which is simply available online, Volkswagen briefly mentions this car. It reiterates that the electric slicker will appear in 2023. More interestingly, the brand calls the car ‘Aero B’ here, instead of the much more logical ‘ID Aero’. We will stick to a working title for the time being, but have mentioned the ‘new name’ once.

Incidentally, this model will most likely also be a station wagon, as predicted by concept car ID Space Vizzion.
