Ambition 2030 tightened

Nissan is sharpening its EV plans. Initially, it would have unveiled fifteen new electric models by 2030. There are now four more, which means that Nissan will release no less than 19 new electric models up to and including 2030.
Under the heading Ambition 2030, Nissan revealed its EV plans in 2021. Through 2030, Nissan would launch 23 new electrified models, 15 of which will be fully electric. Nissan is now tightening up those plans. Between now and 2030, Nissan plans to introduce a total of 27 new electrified models. Of these, 19 must be fully electric.
More electrified Nissan models will therefore arrive worldwide in the coming years and that also means that Nissan is adjusting its sales expectations. Initially, the brand aimed for 75 percent of the cars delivered in Europe to have an electrified powertrain by fiscal year 2026. That percentage has now been adjusted to no less than 98 percent. Worldwide, in 2026, about 44 instead of 40 percent of all cars sold must be electrified to a greater or lesser extent.
Nissan will in any case come with a fully electric successor to the Micra. The new Nissan Micra will be a technical brother of the yet to be revealed Renault 5. We also know that Nissan and Renault are investigating whether a series of electric compact mid-sized cars can also be worked on together. It would concern electric models that will only be on the market after 2026. In 2021, Nissan showed three electric study models, possibly giving away the design direction it will choose with its EVs in the coming years.
