Nissan Ariya later on the market due to chip shortage

The chip shortage has adverse consequences for the introduction of the all-electric Nissan Ariya. The important newcomer from Nissan is expected to be available in Europe two months later than planned.

Almost a year ago, Nissan presented the fully electric Ariya. An extremely important model for the brand, as the market for all-electric SUVs is promising. The Ariya should be on the market this year, but that will not work in Europe in any case. according to Automotive News Nissan’s vice president Asako Hoshino indicates that the launch of the Ariya has been delayed due to the worldwide chip shortage.

Hoshino states that the introduction of the Ariya in Japan has been postponed to next winter. “Sales in the United States and Europe usually come two months later.” Nissan Netherlands clarifies in a response to Techzle that the Dutch introduction of the Ariya is now planned for the spring of 2022.
