With study models, car manufacturers can show their most creative side without being held back by any sense of reality. That results today in the Nissan Ariya Single Seater Concept. Indeed, a crazy crack nose with technology from the Ariya on board.

Nissan surprises by presenting the Ariya Single Seater Concept, a study model with which the brand combines a futuristic circuit stunner with the technology of a very concrete production model. The Ariya Single Seater, as its name implies, has a link with the Ariya. The creation shares its powertrain with that electric SUV.

Nissan does not share technical specifications of the Ariya Single Seater Concept. Nissan supplies the Ariya as 218 hp and 242 hp front-wheel drive units and as a four-wheel drive version with a system output of 279 hp. The absolute top version is the 394 hp and 600 Nm strong four-wheel drive Performance version. The largest battery pack that Nissan supplies in the Ariya has a capacity of 87 kWh. Since the Ariya Single Seater Concept has four-wheel drive, we aim for the crack nose to have the 394 hp powertrain.

The Nissan Ariya Single Seater Concept is more than just a creative splurge. Nissan says it will use the car as a development platform for new technology, although it mainly concerns techniques that Nissan wants to translate from electric production models to the track. On the other hand, the brand claims to use the knowledge and skills acquired in the Formula E racing class to improve its electric production models.

The appearance of the Ariya Single Seater Concept hints at future design of ‘performance EVs‘. The livery of the electric race car is clearly a nod to the introduction color of the Ariya. On the front of the single-seater we see an extended version of Nissan’s V-Motion grille.

Here you can read more about the Nissan Ariya that will be launched in Europe in the spring of 2022 and that will also come to the Netherlands.
