Nissan puts the Leaf in the spotlight. The brand is celebrating that it has now had an electric volume model on the menu for more than ten years and lifts a specially decorated Leaf on the stage.
Nissan delivered the first copies of the first generation Leaf, presented in 2009, for the first time in the Netherlands in 2011, which means that the brand has now had an electric volume model in its range for over ten years. Nissan is celebrating that ten years of Leaf with the Leaf10, a special version of the current model that is laced with subtle references to the electric Ariya.
Nissan Leaf
The Leaf10 is a special edition of the Leaf that distinguishes itself from the regular Leafs in particular with a striking pattern. The roof arches, side mirror caps and tailgate are adorned with a Kumiko-baptized pattern that, in a way, can also be found in the closed muzzle of the electric Ariya. Especially for the Leaf10, Nissan sticks the model name ‘Leaf’ on the C-pillar in black. The Leaf10 is packed with WiFi functionality and is of course equipped with Nissan’s ProPilot system.
The special version of the Leaf will be released later this month. Dutch prices are not yet known. Since the Dutch introduction of the Leaf, over 12,000 of them have been sold in the Netherlands. The first generation Leaf was not able to finish above the 670 units sold in any sales year, but generation two immediately hit 3,384 units sold in its first full sales year (2018). In 2019 and 2020, Nissan successively sold 3,817 and 1,632 units in the Netherlands.
