Nissan has digitally pulled the curtain on the renewed Navara after a short teaser campaign. The pick-up gets a new snout and a new rear.
There is -ie, the mainly optically thoroughly facelifted version of the current Navara presented in 2014. The pick-up, a competitor to cars like the Mitsubishi L200, Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger, will have a new front and rear. The pick-up is still recognizable as Navara, but looks a lot more modern with its angular lines. The headlamps keep their shape, but get a completely new LED layout. From now on, Nissan will place a much larger and wider grille between the viewers, a specimen framed by a silver-colored trim. In the completely new front bunker, we observe a silver-colored and black plastic finish where an angular bulge can be seen around the displaced fog lights.
Nissan also uses the brush of innovation at the rear. We see new rear lights that, like the headlights, retain their old shape but are completed with LED technology. The tailgate is also new. From now on, the model name ‘Navara’ can be read across the entire width of the Navara buttocks. A new bumper hangs at the bottom of the rear. The adjustments that Nissan makes to the interior are less drastic. The Navara gets a new steering wheel and revised instrumentation, but the layout of the cockpit is not tinkered with. However, the software of the infotainment system will be updated. It can now work with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, among other things.
The Navara, which is known as a Frontier in Mexico and South America, will also have new safety systems. For example, Nissan brings Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Emergency Breaking and Around View Monitor with special off-road function to the pick-up. Nissan says it has strengthened the rear axle of the Navara, something that improves the payload. In addition, Nissan has adjusted the steering wheel of the model and says it has improved the sound insulation. Nissan does not seem to have made engine adjustments. This means that the Navara, which in certain markets also comes with a roughly dressed Pro 4X version, will probably be available again in the Netherlands with the 190 hp 2.3 dCi diesel engine. The dCi diesel of 163 hp and 425 Nm also seems to return. More later!

The Nissan Navara presented in 2014 is a popular pick-up. This is not directly related to his Dutch sales performance. The Navara served as the basis for the now-defunct Mercedes-Benz X-class. Alliance partner Renault also has a version of the Navara on its international sales lists: the Alaskan. It does not stop there, the Chinese manufacturer Dongfeng also supplies an optically enhanced variant in the form of the Rich 6.
