Nissan presents a new version of the Note in Japan: the Nissan Note Aura. At first it seems to be a more chic version, but a second look shows that there is really more going on.
The all-new Nissan Note was unveiled in Japan in November. Now the Note Aura follows, which according to Nissan should be seen as a more ‘premium’ alternative to the regular Note. A more chic version, which distinguishes itself with, among other things, a more beautifully finished interior and more luxury.
However, the Note Aura is more than that. We observe a different front, with flatter headlights that are undoubtedly only suitable for the standard LED technology. The lower daytime running lights also take on a different shape, as does the front bumper, which ends higher to fill the gap under the now smaller light units. We also note unique LED light units at the rear.

However, the biggest optical news is also the most invisible at the same time. Take a good look at the sliding plate below: the entire flank of the Aura (red) is slightly different at the back. The fold under the side window, which neatly follows the line of the rear side window on the regular Note (blue), runs horizontally to the bitter end with the Note Aura.
That seems a bizarre step. Adjusting a rear screen is a complicated procedure, while this apparently is a difference that is barely noticeable for 99 percent of people. Due to its slightly different carriage, the Note Aura is also reportedly a few mm wider than a regular Note, although that does not provide extra interior space.
Under the skin, the Note Aura is electrically powered just like the normal Note, but no EV. A three-cylinder 1.2 provides the electric motor that provides the drive with power, but does not drive the wheels yourself. There is now also a four-wheel drive variant of this E-Power drivetrain, which also has two electric motors. Nissan also promises that the main electric motor will now deliver 100 kW instead of 85 kW, for smoother acceleration.
